Travis grew up on a farm in Northwest Indiana and ran for the city (Chicago) the moment he graduated. He immediately began college at IADT Chicago which he later became employed by as an adjunct instructor teaching topics like visual merchandising, fashion show production, retailing, and management.
Travis worked as a visual merchandiser all across the Chicagoland area with flagship stores in the city including but not limited to Marshall Field's/Macy's, Lord and Taylor, Ann Taylor, Cartier, Bath and Body Works, American Girl Place, Pier 1 Imports and many more. Travis has also assisted retailers in buying (shoes and accessories) and hosted his own fashion pop up shops in Chicago. His minor in graphic design also led him to become a graphic design manager at Kinko's which skills he know teaches at IADT Chicago (Photoshop and Illustrator basics).
His position as full time faculty/advisor was eventually replaced by Marketing director where he reinvented the look of the Chicago campus as well as Collins College in Phoenix, IADT Las Vegas and Sanford Brown in Tinley Park. Travis was later inducted into the senior management team of the Chicago campus where he helped lead campus initiates Travis' role as marketing director not only included interior design of the school but also creating printed marketing pieces, coordinating special events, fashion show production, window displays on campus and with partner businesses, alumni/student relations, charity outreach, sponsorship coordinating, web site development and purchasing/billing. Travis has designed and remodeled retail stores across Chicago as well as an entire chain of home fashion/furniture stores in Ireland called InStore. Travis has a vast history of dabbling in all creative genres ranging from fashion photo and runway styling to runway production (lights, music, staging, hair, makeup, casting, budget, and advertising/pr) to interior design. Most recently Travis has begun home staging, the process of using rental and purchased furniture and accessories to aid the selling process of listed real estate. His retail store design skills have crossed over into the realm of interior design for single family homes and condos where he chooses paint colors, finishes, fixtures, furniture, art, layouts, decor, window treatments, floor coverings and more. Travis prides himself on being innovative, creative, while being budget conscious and always surrounding himself with incredibly talented people and the best vendors.
